Cloud computing services are expanding due to
increased automation and agility, the need to
deliver enhanced customer experience, increased
cost savings and return on investment, rise in the
adoption of remote work culture, growth in the
demand for cloud-based business continuity tools
and services.
In response to the COVID-19 outbreak in the US, our client
undertook a significant initiative by implementing an entirely
new telehealth system. This required substantial effort,
involving the migration of historical data to the cloud and the
establishment of a new database pool. The result is a
seamless integration of the telehealth system with their
existing Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, enabling
remote support for their clients.
Before 2022, our client employed conventional approaches for data storage and management, lacking centralization and organization.
The migration process for our client became more intricate due to data sourced from multiple Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, each with its own unique data structure and standards.
The information was not well-organized in traditional databases including text documents, images, and handwriting form of data that don't fit neatly into rows and columns
Various tools and techniques, including OCR, AI text recognition, and the normalization and organization of information into a structured format, have been applied to collect and transform data.
We performed data scrubbing by eliminating duplicates, correcting errors, and restructuring the data to comply with HL7FHIR standards.
We opted for an appropriate cloud provider with suitable storage and data management solutions for them, initiating the migration of all data to the cloud.
To ensure patient information confidentiality, our database system has been designed to align with security standards and comply with regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Integration with the EHR system has also been established.
